Labourer - Shift Work - Entry Level

Howe Sound Pulp & Paper Corporation is currently recruiting for entry level labouring positions. Labour pool employees may be assigned to all areas of the mill as needed. The position is responsible for a variety of job activities, including but not limited to housekeeping, equipment operation, and other general mill duties as assigned or required. The duties depend on the priority of the assignments. A successful applicant must be willing and able to meet the demands of a 24/7 operation, including working a 12-hour rotating shift which includes weekends and holidays. This is a bargaining unit position with a starting wage rate of $34.72/hr and applicable shift premiums. Summary and Responsibilities:

Ensure the cleanliness and safety of your assigned area

Comply with health, safety and environmental standards

Complete other duties as assigned

Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule

An uncompromising approach to safety for yourself and your co-workers

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively

Ability to perform repetitive, manual tasks for extended periods of time; included, but not limited to standing for long hours, walking, shoveling, climbing stairs, bending and lifting

Ability to work with or around machinery and equipment
