Landscape Construction Crew Lead Hand

Wild Ridge Landscapes is an Ottawa based award-winning, landscape company looking to add a Construction Crew Lead Hand to our team.

Requirements:

• 3+ Years of hands-on landscape installation experience, especially in construction


• 1+ Year of leadership experience as a crew lead hand


• Ability to build retaining walls, install unit pavers/interlock, water features, pools and firepits


• Ability to both take and give direction in a team environment


• Knowledge of grading, excavation, job site organizing, reading, and interpreting landscape designs


• Enjoy working outdoors in all weather and take pride in their work


• Quick learner with a keen eye for detail


• Able to meet the physical demands of the job (lift min. 50 lbs)


• Class G license with a clean abstract is a must


• Knowledge of landscape products, power and hand tools, and installation techniques


• Experienced with truck-trailer, skid steer, excavator, tractor, or other heavy equipment experience.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in building retaining walls, install unit pavers/interlock, water features, pools, firepits, planting, sod install and various landscape features 


• Demonstrate leadership skills required to help run the worksite efficiently


• Assist in organizing the site, ensuring a safe workplace and gathering materials


• Operate skidsteer, mini-excavators, stone saws, plate compactor, and other hand and power tools as trained or certified


• Perform manual labour including digging, installing and handling of stone, concrete products, wood and other landscape materials


• Plant care including planting, transplanting, weeding and pruning


• Ensure site is clean and cleanup at end of day


• Submit job-related documentation
