Landscape Maintenance Foreperson

Position Start Date and Salary: We are offering year round employment starting in March 2017 with compensation to commensurate with experience.

Number of Positions: 6

Position Overview:

• Manage the execution of maintenance and installation projects, planning labour requirements, equipment requirements and material deliveries to ensure completion of job(s) within project deadlines.


• Cutting and trimming grass, raking, fertilizing and watering lawns.


• Completing fall and spring garden clean-ups.


• Weeding and cultivating gardens, pruning shrubs and trees.


• Installing soil and mulch into planting beds, spreading top soil, laying sod, planting flowers, grass, shrubs and trees.


• Install armour stone, interlock stone, irrigation and fencing.


• Handle, transport and install nursery stock.


• Performing various other duties to assist in maintenance and construction of landscapes as directed.


• Operate various tools and equipment including: skid steers, mini excavators, front-end loaders, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning equipment, lawn mowers and line trimmers.

• Read and interpret landscape planting plans, blueprints and specifications to delegate and complete maintenance and installation projects.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent


• Valid ‘G’ driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation


• Knowledge of plants and proper tree/shrub planting practices


• Minimum 1 year landscaping experience.


• Horticulture diploma/degree or landscape technician education preferred but not required.


• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend and lift repeatedly through an entire work shift.


• Ability to work outside in various conditions including heat, humidity, rain, snow and cold


• Ability to work up to 10+ hours a day including weekend work.
