Your opportunity:

The Office of Learner Affairs (OLA) is dedicated to working with and supporting health professions learners from the Temerty Faculty of Medicine’s undergraduate medical education (MD and MD/PhD), Postgraduate Medical Education, Medical Radiation Sciences, Physician Assistant, and Occupational Therapy programs to optimize the learning environment and experience at individual and systems levels, and enable learners’ development into and as health care professionals. As the Lead Coordinator – Mentorship and Special Projects, you will oversee the Diversity Mentorship Program (DMP) and be integral to the planning and development of a mentorship strategy for Medical Education,in additional to supporting other initiatives within the Office of Learner Affairs. In the role, you will lead the development of operational policies, procedures and best practices for mentorship programs, prepare analyses for decision making, implement community engagement strategies, and build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders. Your extensive project management experience, combined with your solid collaborative, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills will be key to your success in this role.

Your responsibilities will include:

-Developing components of programs and initiatives, such as the Diversity Mentorship Program, including program work flow and administration, and conducting detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities
-Developing charter, scope, resources and schedule for project(s)
-Leading the development and making recommendations for operational policies, procedures and best practices for mentorship programs
-Reviewing and assessing student learning outcomes; Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
-Developing and implementing community engagement strategies and plans
-Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
-Directing a small group in a limited area, including responsibility for scheduling and/or workflow
-Serves as a resource to mentors and mentees on mentorship process


Essential Qualifications:



-Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
-Minimum five (5) years of relevant full cycle program development experience.
-Demonstrated project management experience, including process development, implementation and evaluation
-Experience developing project plans, reports, and communications and community engagement plans
-Demonstrated experience developing process improvements including for the purposes of policies and procedures
-Demonstrated experience with and understanding of key components of effective mentorship programs
-Experience working with a highly diverse community and familiarity with anti-oppression/anti-racism frameworks
-Experience leading workshops and seminars, and presenting to diverse audiences
-Advanced proficiency with MS Office 365, including MS Teams and video conferencing platforms
-Experience with database management
-Superior communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
-Strong oral presentation and facilitation skills
-Critical thinker with solid research and analytical skills
-Self-starter with proven experience managing multiple projects in a multi-stakeholder environment
-Supervisory experience
-Ability to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources and provide recommendations
-Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with executive level stakeholders
-Effective tact, discretion and good judgement in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive situations

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:

USW Pay Band 14 -- $88,290 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $112,911. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
