Lead Piping Designer

Wood, the global engineering and consultancy organization, is seeking an experienced Lead Piping Designer to join our Conventional Energy team in Calgary. The Conventional Energy team in Calgary has a history of delivering some of the biggest projects in the Canadian Oilsands, with associated pipelines and refinery infrastructure, as well as a strong foothold in the energy transition supporting the rapidly growing decarbonization and renewables industry.

Responsibilities: 

• Piping Lead Designer
  • Maintaining budgets
  • Checking Designs
  • Coordinating workloads with Calgary and HVEC
  • Create and develop 3D model

• Diploma in Piping design, production or similar
• 15+ years of experience in piping design
• 5+ years leading small projects
• Experience in Upstream and Downstream Oil Sands project preferred

Additional skills required:

• Managing manhour budgets
• Estimating projects
• Proficient in AutoPlant, Cadworx, Navisworks.  Aveva experience preferred
• Familiar with handling large Excel spreadsheets
