Lead Software Developer – Canada – Remote

GbBIS is looking to hire a talented and experienced Lead Software Developer to join our growing team in Canada!

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Developer to lead our development team in building scalable, high-quality, and high-performance SaaS applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C#.NET programming, profound understanding of SQL interactions, and extensive experience with dynamic HTML technologies (jQuery, CSS, etc.). Experience in GIS and DevOps practices and tools are highly desirable. This role demands a proactive leader capable of developing innovative solutions and improving our product offerings.

What your day will look like:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality front- and back-end software solutions using C#.NET.
• Implement dynamic user interfaces with HTML, jQuery, and CSS
• Manage source control using GitHub, ensuring code integrity and collaboration
• Develop and optimize SQL databases for high-performance interactions
• Daily contributions to the development of commercial SaaS software adhering to best practices
• Work within and lead agile development teams
• Innovate and introduce new technologies or methods to improve product functionality and team efficiency
• Engage in code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure quality standards
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing team environment
• Refactor legacy applications to use modern architectures, frameworks, and protocols
• Lead application re-architectures and manage the creation of specifications
• Develop APIs using REST endpoints

About You:

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least 7+ years of commercial experience in software development, with a focus on C#.NET.
• Strong proficiency in dynamic web technologies, including JQuery, CSS, and HTML
• Expert understanding of SQL and database interactions
• Expertise in the development and operation of web apps running in AWS
• Experience with rearchitecting applications to be testable and familiarity with unit testing concepts
• Familiarity with automated build and deploy systems
• Familiarity with GIS technologies is a plus
• Awareness of secure coding practices, OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities, and data protection measures is desirable
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential
• Legally authorised to work in Canada
