Job Description

Lumeca Health is a fast-paced, professional leader in the virtual healthcare space. Our mission is to simplify communication between healthcare providers and their patients and streamline workflows in emergency services.

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Lead UX/UI Designer will work with the development, design, and product teams to design new features and optimize workflows based on best practices, market research, and user testing.

We’re looking for someone to join our product development team that is passionate about designing and building products that are beautifully simple. The successful candidate would fully own the entire UX/UI of our products which includes designing for web, Android, and iOS applications. Experience designing for these platforms is huge; however, we are mostly looking for someone who is passionate about user experience, is willing to learn our product development team’s processes, and is excited by the opportunity to work in the virtual healthcare space.

Location

Lumeca has an office in Regina, Saskatchewan however 90%+ of the work is currently done remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the product development team to design new features and optimise workflows for our world class mobile and web applications.
  • Contribute to the product strategy and vision based on current design best practises, competitor analysis, and user research.
  • Conduct user interviews and testing to inform an optimal user experience.
  • Own the end-to-end design process which includes user research, wireframe designs based on requirements, user testing, user interface optimisations, preparing assets for the developers, and analysing analytics post launch of the design.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensiv e design library to ensure consistency and efficiency across all design projects.

Professional Requirements

  • Experience as a UX/UI Designer—startup experience is a plus.
  • Experience designing workflows for web-based and mobile applications—healthcare and scheduling software is a plus.
  • Experience in creating design systems in Figma from scratch.
  • A deep understanding of design and prototyping tools such as the Adobe suite (including Xd), and Figma.
  • Familiarity with the agile and scrum software development process.
  • Ability to communicate with users for the purposes of better understanding their challenges.
  • Ability to analyse and make sense of software analytics for the purpose of understanding users flows and sticking points.
  • Some front-end developer experience would be a plus but not required.
