Position: Leadership Programs Manager
Reports to: President & CEO & Director of Leadership Programs
Hours: Full Time, Exempt
Position Description:
The Leadership Programs Manager serves as the Director of the Emerging Leaders program for early-career professionals, manages all aspects of the FOCUS St. Louis community engagement and civic issue education agenda, and supports alumni programming.
Qualifications:
· Experience developing, revising, and implementing curriculum based on best practices.
· Strong facilitation/listening/consensus-building skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting in front of groups.
· Ability to build effective relationships with a diverse array of community partners.
· Experience planning, organizing, and implementing events of varying sizes.
· Experience in independently developing and implementing work plans and managing budgets.
· Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and to plan, organize, and manage long-range projects.
· Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
· Experience in managing and motivating volunteer groups.
· Strong critical thinking skills; ability to consider issues from all perspectives and uphold FOCUS’ role as a nonpartisan organization and neutral convener.
· Knowledge of the region and awareness of regional issues.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
· Degree in a related field and at least five years’ experience in education, public policy, nonprofit program management, or community engagement.
Responsibilities:
· Provide management oversight for program administration and delivery, including nomination and selection processes, coordinating speakers and Civic Action Project hosts, scheduling, logistics, and budget management for the Emerging Leaders program.
· Oversight for organizing, designing, and coordinating content delivery for the Emerging Leaders program.
· Support FOCUS’ alumni programming, community engagement, and civic issue education agenda.
· Build, support, and manage collaborations with various regional sectors, organizations, agencies, and leaders.
· Communicate with the FOCUS management team to ensure optimal media coverage, identify potential grant funding, and complement other FOCUS activities.
· Engage FOCUS alumni members in the organization’s community engagement and civic issue education work and launch a speaker’s bureau.
· Prepare, follow, and track departmental budgets and areas of responsibility in strategic plans.
· Participate in activities required of all staff, including attendance at staff, committee, and board meetings, workshops, and community events, and maintenance of accurate files and records.
· Other duties as assigned.
Salary & Benefits:
The starting salary range for this position is $50,000-$70,000 annually, depending on experience. FOCUS offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, hybrid work schedule, and 401(k) with employer match.
