Job Title: Licensed Pharmacist



Western Community College is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Licensed Pharmacist to teach in our pharmacology courses at the Surrey Campus. The instructor will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures, facilitating hands-on learning, and supporting students in developing the skills required to succeed in both community and hospital pharmacy settings. The ideal candidate will bring practical experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for mentoring the next generation of Pharmacy Technicians. 




Professional Requirements: 



  • Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia



  • 2 years of work experience as a Pharmacist.



  • Classroom and clinical teaching experience is an asset. 



  • Completion of, working towards, or will be working towards Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent OR has two-year teaching/training experience. 




Responsibilities 



Theory Instruction (In-Person or Online) 



  • Deliver lectures aligned with course objectives and program learning outcomes. 



  • Prepare lesson plans, presentations, and materials that engage diverse learners. 



  • Explain course outlines, expectations, and assessment criteria at the start of each course. 



  • Provide regular feedback on student progress and support student learning needs. 



  • Assess assignments and exams and submit grades within required timelines. 



  • Participate in curriculum development, updates, and instructional planning. 


Lab Instruction (if applicable) 



  • Facilitate hands-on practice sessions that align with theory content and program skills checklist. 



  • Demonstrate procedures and coach students in correct technique and patient care approaches. 



  • Evaluate student performance in simulated environments and ensure safety protocols are followed. 



  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure proper setup for sessions. 



  • Provide individual support to students during skill development activities. 



Practicum Supervision (If Applicable): 



  • Supervise students during off-site practicum placements in alignment with program-specific guidelines. 



  • Serve as the point of contact between the college and practicum site, ensuring professional standards are met. 



  • Observe and assess students’ application of theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. 




General Responsibilities (All Instructors) 



  • Discuss students’ progress and address academic concerns as needed. 



  • Submit all required records and documentation, including attendance and grades, in a timely manner and in accordance with institutional policies and established processes. Accurately track and report student attendance and grades through the system as required. 



  • Attend faculty meetings and participate in program and college initiatives. 



  • Participate in faculty performance reviews, if required. 



  • Arrange make-up sessions for hours missed due to illness or other absences. 



  • Comply with all college policies and procedures. 



  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program manager, College Dean, or President.




Expected Start Date: ASAP


Schedule: Monday to Friday Evening Classes
