Life Management Trainer

We are currently seeking 1 Full time Life Management Trainer (LMT) for the Life Management Program.

The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week and there are no on-call duties for this position/program.  

Life Management Training: The Life Management Training (LMT) program is a dynamic, community-based program designed to empower young people to effectively manage their lives and build independence. We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Life Management Trainer to provide one-on-one support to youth, including those considered high-risk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build supportive, trusting relationships with youth through consistent one-on-one engagement


• Assist youth in identifying personal goals and developing action plans


• Provide hands-on guidance and coaching to support independence and life skills development


• Connect youth to appropriate community resources and services


• Support youth in navigating complex systems such as housing, employment, education, and healthcare


• Maintain accurate documentation and progress tracking

Areas of Support Include:

• Mental health and addiction supports and resources


• Securing and maintaining housing (applications, lease signing, utility setup, apartment setup)


• Financial literacy (budgeting, banking, saving, taxes)


• Education and employment pathways (job search, resumes, interviews, school applications, funding)


• Accessing community resources (food banks, healthcare, recreation, crisis supports)


• Daily living skills (cooking, nutrition, budget-conscious shopping)


• Job maintenance and workplace readiness skills


• Self-care, communication, and interpersonal skills


• Supports for pregnant and parenting youth


• Cultural resources and activities

Education, Credentials and Requirements:

• Requires a diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related humanities field of study. A degree is considered an asset to this position. 


• This position also requires the ability to drive for the purpose of work, which includes the following: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, clean 3 year driving abstract, and a minimum of 3 years driving experience with continuous insurance with no "at fault" claims.


• Vehicle insurance with a minimum of $2 million liability and business use coverage.


• A clear and current (within 6 months) Criminal Records Check and Children Services Intervention Record Check.


• Training in First Aid, Suicide Intervention and Crisis Intervention.


• Experience working front line with youth in a human services position is considered a significant asset.

Salary, Holidays and Benefits:
The annual salary range for the full time position is $51,410.00 to $57,494.00. Staff accrue 15 holidays and 10 sick days per year.  This position qualifies for the agency’s benefits plan (medical benefits after 3 months and dental benefits after 1 year of employment).
