What you will do:
- Ensure building systems are operating effectively and that issues are addressed quickly and thoroughly.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance as directed.
- Respond to unscheduled maintenance work orders.
- Complete minor repairs (e.g., clogged sinks, lighting, toilet repairs, flood cleanup).
- Maintain and monitor critical building systems (e.g., HVAC, boilers, electrical panels, elevators, sprinklers, emergency generators).
- Conduct pre-inspections and facilitate turnover of vacant suites.
- Act as a responsive, professional, and service-oriented liaison for residents.
- Address resident service requests within 24 hours.
- Ensure resident satisfaction through ongoing communication and follow-up.
- Uphold and report breaches of property rules and regulations.
- Promote a positive and welcoming environment for all residents.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for all building occupants.
- Conduct outdoor and indoor cleaning duties (e.g., litter pickup, sweeping, snow removal, pressure washing).
- Care for and water outdoor planters and flowerbeds seasonally.
- Accompany and coordinate with contractors, providing updates to the management team.
- Follow occupational health and safety protocols; participate in on-call emergency responses.
- Support building management through accurate documentation and coordination.
- Maintain operational records and documentation according to standard procedures.
- Carry out other duties as assigned at this or other company locations, including tasks requiring heavy lifting.
Who You Are:
- Education: High school diploma required; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Experience: Hands-on experience in multi-residential property management. Knowledge of WHMIS and health and safety standards.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of building maintenance systems. Comfort using smartphones, two-way radios, and basic tech platforms.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written English communication skills; professional and respectful interaction with residents and colleagues.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain flexible under pressure.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including after-hours emergency callouts and month-end transitions.
- Other Requirements: Basic knowledge of landlord-tenant legislation
- Police Clearance – A criminal verification check is required for employment.
