Local Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Local Merchant BD

• Sign local merchants (restaurants, bubble tea, beauty, clinics, retail) for exclusive offers and grow the merchant pool via the store-visit / product-testing program — with regular visits in Toronto and outreach in Vancouver & other Canada area

1. Sponsorship & Monetization

• Package sellable assets into tiered sponsorship (naming rights, category sponsor, handbook pages, coupon slots, booths, content packages) and sell them to hit revenue targets.

• Lead Back-to-School (BTS) commercialization


• Design each activation to be ROI-positive: secure a lead sponsor, control cost, and quantify delivery (reach, redemptions, FTU, UGC, leads).

1. Cross-border & Brand Partnerships

• Prospect and close cross-border / Amazon brands entering the North American Chinese market and upsell existing Dealmoon advertisers into offline and event packages — built on precise, measurable reach.

1. Marketing, Delivery & Reporting

• Partner with marketing / content teams (App, official account, RED, WeChat, EDM) to align promotion, deliver sponsor assets, and support Coupon Map App acquisition.

• Track pipeline, deals, and delivery in the CRM; report ROI per event / deal and share market and competitor insights.

Qualifications 

• 1–2+ years of full-time sales / BD experience (B2B, merchant, sponsorship, media or ad sales preferred), with a track record of closing deals.

• Comfortable with consultative, ROI / data-driven selling.

• Bilingual — native Mandarin or Cantonese and fluent English; proficient with CRM and MS Office.

• Self-motivated and organized; driver's license and ability to travel locally a plus.

Preferred / Bonus 

• Existing connections with local merchants in Toronto / Vancouver, or with cross-border / Amazon sellers and brand-marketing contacts.

• Experience in event sponsorship, media / ad sales, or campus / back-to-school marketing.

Skills & Attributes 

• Relationship building & negotiation — build strong ties with merchants and brands, and close effectively.

• Data literacy — think in ROI and delivery metrics, and articulate value to sponsors.

• Ownership & local market knowledge — self-driven, organized, and familiar with the Toronto / Vancouver landscape.

2026 Compliance, Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range (Ontario):

The expected base salary for the position ranges from $45,000 to $52,000 CAD per annum, commensurate with skills and functional experience. Additionally, this position is eligible for performance-based commission and bonuses.
