The Department of Medicine at Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia Health seeks applications for a Geriatrician in the Division of Geriatric Medicine at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, Nova Scotia. This position is a 1-year, full time locum, with anticipated start date in July 2025, and potential opportunity to apply for continuing position in future.
The Division of Geriatric Medicine is one of 15 divisions within the Department of Medicine and is a leader of tertiary clinical services in the Atlantic Provinces. In addition to playing an important clinical role in the Department, division members have excellent opportunities for collaborative educational and research activities to facilitate rewarding and fulfilling career development.
The Division of Geriatric Medicine provides a comprehensive suite of services in addition to supporting local community needs, including Geriatric Ambulatory Services (Memory Clinic, Falls Clinic, Movement Disorders Clinic, and Outreach), inpatient management of a 15-bed Geriatric Assessment Unit, inpatient consultation services, and the Palliative and Therapeutic Harmonization (PATH) inpatient and outpatient services.
Candidates must hold FRCPC (or equivalent) certification in Internal Medicine and subspecialty certification in Geriatric Medicine or Family Medicine with Care of the Elderly Certification. Candidates must be eligible for specialty licensure in Nova Scotia.
