Nasittuq provides Operation & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.

If you have interest and/or experience in warehousing, this is a unique opportunity to gain the skills and education through Nasittuq’s Trainee Program and to continue earning pay while completing the required training at the Training Institute.

Please note: These positions are reserved for Inuit candidates.

Work is carried out in a remote Arctic location with exposure to severe outdoor winter weather conditions.

This position is a full time, Unionized role. We are offering community-based employment, at 40 hours/per week, 5 days a week.

Main Responsibilities: 

The Logistics Trainee will obtain knowledge of working side by side with a qualified Logistician on the NWS project. This 18 month program is designed to teach a person to become a full time Logistician by completing on the job training, the warehouse certificate program and Maximo training.

The Trainee is responsible for following the program and pass any provided training during this period. They are also responsible to work with the Zone Manager and Trainer to report their progression on a weekly basis.

Qualifications: 

• Completion of Grade 12 or ministry-approved equivalent
• Adaptability and ability to manage priorities with attention to detail and work cross-culturally
• Candidates must be eligible and able to maintain Level (II) SECRET security clearance
