Main Responsibilities
- In this role, the incumbent will issue recommendations and have influence on the system verification and validation of the Telesat Lightspeed system
- Develop system and sub system verification matrices against system requirements
- Coordinate and participate in system level testing activities including test planning, execution and reporting
- Develop/maintain test cases, test beds required for various Test cases.
- Hands on testing in the Leo Lab for various data path, RF and/or routing features.
- Work with other segments like DevOps, Ground Systems, Satellite and foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Plays an active role in component and subsystem design and test activities
- Configuring test equipment like Satellite Link Emulators, signal generator, spectrum analyzer and traffic generators.
- Ensure product under test meets technical, functional, performance and business requirements.
- Work with partners and other vendors in various test campaigns.
Education & Experience Required
- B. Sc. in Electrical, Computer or System Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in satellite communications
- Exposure to modulation and coding used in modern satellite communication standards like DVB-S2X, TDMA, DVB-RCS2, etc.
- Hands on experience using RF test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, satellite channel emulator)
- Basic Understanding of Linux, IP and Routing Protocols.
- Experience in test case and defect tracking tools (Jira, Jama)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams and partners / suppliers.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with various traffic generators like Ixia, Spirent
- Proficient with MATLAB, Python or C++.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Automation experience with programming languages like Python.
