Machine Operator- Hot Stamp
Great Location In: Markham (Major Mackenzie/Woodbine Ave)
Pay: 17-18/hr + NEW $.60-1.00/hr shift premium and possible overtime !!!
Shift: Afternoons 2:30-10:30pm or Nigths 10:30pm-6:30am
** Must be available on Days 6:30am-2:30pm or Nights 10:30pm- 6:30am for training shift
**must have clear criminal background
The Machine Operator handles plant equipment and performs duties that the Leadhand assigns, in accordance with procedures; controls machines and processes, inspect the equipment, structures or material, handles and moves objects, and evaluates data to ensure conformity to standards.
Primary Responsibilities
· Run various Machine effectively - simple operation
· Accurately enters information on the daily production sheet and schedule sheets
· Ensures machines are running smoothly and advises technician/lead of any issues encountered during processing
· Follow and adhere to departmental policies and procedures
· Attends departmental meetings and provides feedback whenever necessary
· Enter time ticket confirmation on System Applications and Procedures (SAP)
· Responsible for assisting in the raw materials inventory accuracy
· Maintain a safe and organized work environment
· Establish and maintain production procedures to maintain a high standard of manufacturing operations, product quality, reliability, and safety
· Responsible for cleanliness and minor machine maintenance
Secondary Responsibilities
· Escalates or provides inputs for process improvement/analysis on the area they are designated
· Any other duties as assigned by the Lead Hand
· Comply with Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures and report any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents and concerns to the immediate supervisor/manager. Management will ensure employees are provided with job-specific Environmental, Health & Safety information, training and also ensure employees follow workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures
Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements
Work Experience:
· At least one year of manufacturing experience
· Capable of working on the computer and pneumatic machinery
Skills and Competencies:
· Detail-oriented and quality-focused
· Good working habits
· Capable of working in a diversified environment
· Computer numeric control (CNC) knowledge or experience is an asset
Education:
· High School Diploma
Working Conditions
· Capable of working a continental shift schedule - 12 hours shift, working 4 hours straight before breaks
· Safety shoes and smock required on the production floor
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand for long periods of time (at least 8 hours if necessary)
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
· Excellent hand and eye coordination to minimize scrap
· Able to look at monitors for long periods of time
· Able to physically bend and frequently lift items when required
