MAGNETIC REASONANCE IMAGING (MRI) TECHNOLOGIST

(CASUAL)

One (1) Casual Medical Radiation Technologist - Magnetic Resonance (MRT(MR)) position is available at North Wellington Health Care (NWHC).

This position is unionized with OPSEU.

North Wellington Health Care is introducing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program in the fall 2025, located at our Palmerston & District Hospital site.  We have an exciting opportunity for a casual MRI Technologist.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma (Degree) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging from an accredited institution.


• Registration with the CMRITO as an MRI Technologist required.


• MRT plus MRI certification required.


• Registration with CAMRT - preferred.


• Minimum 2 years technical experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging


• Current BCLS


• Must be IV certified or willing to complete training


• Demonstrated understanding of all applicable regulatory standards and legislation


• Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, conflict management and organizational skills 


• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with many and varied internal and external individuals, groups, and agencies


• Demonstrated effective communications, organization and interpersonal skills


• Thorough knowledge of the practice of MRI procedures and quality assurance.


• Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities.


• Ability to work professionally and accurately under stressful conditions.


• Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands


• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position


• Other duties as required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Satisfactory performance and attendance required


• Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date


• Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check


• Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired

HOURS OF WORK:

• As per department schedule


• On an as needed basis
  

SALARY:

• $36.84 to $51.77 per hour
