MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT - 6 Month Contract

Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the Properties and Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for the custodial maintenance and physical conditions of Ecuhome properties in a manner that meets Ecuhome standards and in accordance with all municipal/provincial housing/building regulations.
  


• This includes, but is not limited to, carrying out all required janitorial, grounds keeping and other related tasks; cleaning and upkeeping all common areas at Ecuhome properties; cleaning and preparing rooms prior to tenant occupancy; ensuring that waste is removed from properties and that walkways and parking areas are free of ice/snow and other debris.
  


• Responsible for assisting Maintenance Workers in providing maintenance services and identifying preventative and on-going maintenance needs.
  

Qualifications:

• High school graduate


• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the maintenance of multi-unit residential settings or related experience


• Some familiarity with electricity, plumbing and carpentry and general maintenance repairs


• A working knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and codes governing housing/building safety


• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Ability to positively interact with a tenant population where mental health and addictions challenges are present

This position is in the bargaining unit.

Job Type:  Contract, 6 months, Full Time,  Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm

Salary:  $38,304.47

Location: Properties in the old City of Toronto

Reports to: Maintenance Manager
