Job Function
Reporting into the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be based out of Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The Maintenance Manager will perform both leadership and hands-on maintenance duties
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Improve and lead the maintenance organization, designing and implementing continuous improvement applications and systems to enhance the longevity of the site’s equipment.
Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures and ensure compliance.
Assigns outlines and explains work to subordinates.
Provides necessary training to department employees and to all plant employees for maintenance procedures.
Inspects completed jobs to ensure compliance and specifications are met.
Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement.
Supervise housekeeping, 5S, and sanitation in areas of responsibility.
Responsible for overall efficiency and machine care of equipment.
Maintain records associated with mechanical integrity and compliance.
Lead development of skills and knowledge in the Maintenance Department.
Lead/participate in the root cause analysis (RCA) process to identify and drive out long-term chronic problems and failures.
Track RCA recommendations and ensure completion.
Actively participate in planning and executing outages for the facility.
Provide leadership to meet/exceed key operation targets and daily support to the facility as needed.
Work with Production and Maintenance Engineer to develop and improve PM inspection routes and systems.
Conducts yearly performance reviews for subordinates in accordance with Company policy.
Maintains good housekeeping.
Follows all company and customer safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
Responds to change productively.
Views safety as a core value and participates in safety meetings as required.
Assures adherence to safety procedures and work instructions in accordance with company protocol.
Promotes safety awareness through structured formats and associated communications.
Reviews safety performance and promotes continuous improvement.
Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as earplugs, and respirator for dust and fumes, and fall equipment.
Manage other duties as required.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or Science related field preferred, but can be mitigated by experience.
Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) license required.
Ontario Electrical Certification preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot PLCs.
Minimum of 10 years of maintenance and/or reliability experience with industrial equipment and/or manufacturing systems.
5-7 years maintenance manager experience.
Excellent critical thinking skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
Strong planning and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
Good computer skills include programs such as CAD drawing, Excel, and Word.
Must provide your own tools.
Flexible work schedule to include evenings, nights and weekends as needed.
Bilingual English/French a plus.
Fork truck license.
Ability to work at heights using fall arrest equipment.
