Job Description - Maintenance Manager

Role

Reporting to the Division Manager, the Field Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of field maintenance operations. This role includes developing and implementing policies, procedures, and programs to ensure efficient and effective field maintenance activities. The Field Maintenance Manager will be client’s main point of contact for maintenance scopes and will coordinate with other departments to ensure all maintenance issues are addressed in a timely manner. The Field Maintenance Manager will also be responsible to identify new opportunities and clients, foster new client relationships, showcase Rising Edge’s Maintenance offerings, and to identify market trends which could present opportunity. Additionally, this role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations related to field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement maintenance policies, procedures, and programs to ensure efficient and effective field maintenance operations.
  • Manage relationships with clients, contractors, and service providers as well as being Rising Edge’s main point of contact for client’s maintenance needs.
  • Develop maintenance plans and working with the estimating team in developing and submitting bid proposals
  • Project management duties as required to ensure overall management, coordination and delivery of assigned projects
  • Lead and supervise maintenance projects, ensuring that staff are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties safely and with highest degree of quality
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as Operations and Logistics, to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of field staff, providing feedback and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations related to field maintenance operations.
  • Manage and oversee project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and technologies, implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of maintenance materials and equipment.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance activities, including performance metrics and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure inspection and maintenance reports are shared with clients and stored for internal and client review. Ensure historical data is archived and accessible as required.
  • Handle maintenance-related emergencies and incidents, coordinating response and resolution efforts.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering Technologist or Journeyman PSE/Electrician designation required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in field operations.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance standards, best practices, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to field maintenance operations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and other relevant tools.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel as required.
  • Knowledge of the industry and market trends is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to travel to sites as required
  • Willingness and availability to be on a rotating on-call schedule
