Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, supervise, implement and review maintenance and repair activities to automotive testing equipment, facility equipment and buildings in support of ongoing operations.
Oversee and direct maintenance activities to complete required tasks in a safe and timely manner.
Comply with the collective bargaining agreement, Canadian Electrical Code, TSSA, corporate policies and other applicable regulations in the organization and execution of maintenance activities.
Develop maintenance strategies, programs and make improvements to existing policies.
Major Duties
Troubleshoot automated testing system issues and determine corrective actions.
Manage all aspects of environmental health and safety conformance in maintenance program.
Develop, maintain and oversee a preventative maintenance program for automotive testing and facility equipment.
Develop maintenance procedures for internal and external work forces.
Develop scope of work for outsourced maintenance activity
Manage service contracts.
Prioritize tasks based on urgency and workforce availability.
Procure parts, material and rentals required to complete maintenance tasks.
Track data for performance measurable such as Preventative Maintenance task completion, overtime, equipment uptime, etc.
Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment.
Requirements
Certificate of Qualification as an electrician or an electrical engineering technologist (or equivalent)
5-10 years of troubleshooting automated equipment with preference to automotive assembly or automotive component testing would be a benefit.
Experience in a unionized labour environment, 5 -10 years would be a benefit.
Willingness to accept a wide variety of assignments.
Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations relating to industrial maintenance activities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, ability to learn and operate other computer based and web based programs
Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Willing to work weekends as required.
Additional Must Haves
5-10 years of experience troubleshooting automated systems with emphasis on electrical circuits and controls
Proficient in MS Office programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
2-5 years of experience in a unionized labour environment
Certificate of Qualification as an electrician OR a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent
