Job Description - Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general preventative maintenance, repairs on facility equipment and property structures. In addition, this position is also responsible for performing all building-related PM’s, grounds maintenance and work related to equipment preventative maintenance. This position requires a high standard of quality in meeting our customer expectations.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Perform preventative maintenance for all Carfair buildings, equipment, and maintenance shop equipment.
    • Perform booth cleaning, equipment cleaning, dust cleaning, and or any additional cleaning.
    • Maintains the work order log and updates the Maintenance Management System.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
    • Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance on equipment, machinery, and hand/power tools.
    • Monitors the use of and inventories of maintenance supplies and equipment.
    • Operate hand tools, power tools for equipment/machinery assembly and repairs.
    • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and forklift to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
    • Operate forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, and bobcat as required to perform the duties safely and in timely manner.
    • Read manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
    • Makes recommendations for improving plant operations and efficiency.
    • Communicates directly with supervisors and operations departments to coordinate maintenance work
    • Keep the work area and equipment clean and organized as required by the 5S standards.
    • General plumbing maintenance and repairs.
    • Routine checks and preventative maintenance on Air-Makeup and Exhaust equipment (if required)
    • Perform general maintenance and maintain maintenance records on all equipment and vehicles (if required)
    • Follow health and safety policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • 1 to 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
    • Industrial Mechanic Certification will be considered an asset.
    • Maintenance experience will be considered an asset
    • Should have good people skills.
    • Should have good oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask
    • Experienced with Microsoft office suit
    • Must have elementary mechanical aptitude.
    • Knowledge on how to interpret blueprints.
