POSITION TYPE FULL-TIME (Monday – Friday)(May require evening/weekend work)
Chief Peguis Investment Corporation (CPIC) is seeking a highly motivated Full-time Maintenance Technician to assist in performing building maintenance duties for the purpose of continuous upkeep and to maintain indoor and outdoor grounds, systems and equipment upkeep by preventative maintenance schedules, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the facilities and equipment in optimal condition to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain Maintenance log while performing regular maintenance tasks and repairs such as replacing lights bulbs, plumbing and conducting electrical repairs
Conduct routine inspections of the building and equipment to identify and address any issues promptly
Perform general aesthetic upkeep which can include basic carpentry, painting, landscaping or cleaning duties
Handle pest control issues and find preventative solutions and coordinating with the appropriate professionals
Obtain quotes and maintain budget for the upkeep of equipment and property structures
Oversee the surveying of buildings and equipment to ensure they maintain proper health and safety standards
Conduct repairs on the company or building’s HVAC equipment such as heating and cooling systems, plumbing or electrical systems
Ensure alarm systems are functioning properly and responding when there are issues
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong organization and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and a focus on quality work
Working knowledge of HVAC systems
Proficiency in using hand and power tools
COMPETENCIES
Ability to follow directions accurately and excellent teamwork skills
Computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
Organized, flexible and problem solver
Flexibility and versatility
Physical ability to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy objects and standingfor long periods and working outdoors in extreme environmental situations
EDUCATION
Technical or trade school, training or certifications in building maintenance preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in building maintenance, preventative management, repair and general handyman tasks
Class 5 driver’s license
