Job Description - Management System Specialist

Project

The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.

Position

The Management System Specialist is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG's dynamic team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering Support, this role is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining Woodfibre LNG’s integrated management system and ensuring processes are well-designed, fit-for-purpose, and consistently maintained. The position requires strong systems thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate regulatory and business requirements into effective, right sized, processes that enable safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will:

  • Lead the design, documentation, and rollout of Woodfibre LNG facility’s management system ensuring the management system is operational for start up
  • Ensure the management system aligns with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and industry’s best practices.
  • Facilitate integration of procedures, standards, and governance processes across disciplines.
  • Coordinate periodic reviews, updates, and continuous improvement of management system elements.
  • Support end-users by providing training, guidance, and tools to enable consistent adoption of management system processes.
  • Act as a focal point for audits and assurance activities, ensuring evidence of compliance and continual improvement.
  • Track and report on management system performance, including system health checks, compliance status, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Partner with functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, HSSE, etc.) to ensure processes are practical, efficient, and embedded into day-to-day work.
  • Drive simplification, clarity, and usability of management system documentation and supporting tools.

Required Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in a hydrocarbon facility (LNG, petrochemical, oil & gas, refining, or related) or heavy industry with complex systems.
  • Hands-on experience with management systems, including policies, procedures, standards, and governance processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop or improve processes within a management system.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to LNG or hydrocarbon facilities.
  • Proven experience collaborating across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Strong systems thinking capability, with the ability to connect processes across the organization.

Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent organizational, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with assurance, auditing, and continuous improvement frameworks is an asset.
  • Advanced working knowledge of collaboration and document management platforms (e.g., SharePoint, MS Office Suite). Familiarity with Power Apps and Power BI is an asset.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • The position is based in Vancouver, BC, with occasional travel to Squamish site.
