Office Location: 22 St. Clair Ave East

Hybrid Model: Minimum 3 days in office

Position Overview

Choice Properties is looking for a Manager, AI & Automation to join our team! The Manager, AI & Automation must be a self-starter, a strategic thinker, and have a strong service-oriented mindset that encourages continuous improvement of services, productivity and performance across the organization. This role will lead the practical adoption of Artificial Intelligence and automation tools across the organization. The Manager will focus on identifying, prioritizing, and deploying low-risk, business-focused AI solutions that rapidly improve productivity, streamline workflows, and enhance decision-making.

Reporting to the VP, Technology, this role will operate as part of a small, agile AI “SWAT Team”, delivering measurable efficiency gains while ensuring appropriate governance, security, and ownership standards are maintained.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prioritize high-impact AI and automation opportunities across business units.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate operational workflows into structured AI use cases.
  • Source, evaluate, and deploy SaaS AI tools that improve drafting, summarization, document review, search, and workflow efficiency.
  • Lead rapid pilots and controlled enterprise rollouts of AI-enabled solutions.
  • Establish clear ownership, governance, and guardrails for AI usage across the organization.
  • Ensure alignment with Cyber Security and Data Governance standards, including privacy and compliance requirements.
  • Develop lightweight AI governance frameworks to ensure safe and responsible adoption.
  • Drive adoption of enterprise AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot and related productivity platforms.
  • Track and report on measurable efficiency gains, adoption rates, and business outcomes.
  • Build reusable AI solution patterns and best practices to support scalability.
  • Provide training, enablement, and support to business teams to build AI literacy and confidence.
  • Minimize dependency on complex core system integrations by focusing on targeted, fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Support the team to ensure department objectives are achieved.
  • Use development, mentoring, and coaching techniques to build a strong team.
  • Provide direction and oversight to the Analyst, AI & Automation role.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation balanced with accountability and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in technology, digital transformation, automation, AI, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a senior or people leadership capacity.
  • Post-secondary education in Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience evaluating and implementing SaaS-based AI and automation tools in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated success delivering rapid, business-focused automation or digital initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of generative AI tools, workflow automation platforms, and enterprise productivity technologies.
  • Knowledge of governance, risk, compliance, and data privacy considerations related to AI.
  • Ability to translate business processes into structured technical requirements.
  • Strong proficiency in analyzing and resolving complex issues by applying experience, judgment, and established precedents to determine effective solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead and direct others in a team environment.
  • Experience working within the Microsoft ecosystem is considered an asset.
