Express Scripts Canada seeks to hire Manager, Applications Delivery. The role will join the technology group to manage a development team of full time, and onshore and offshore resources. This role will also be required to manage large and complex projects from initiation through to close out. The role works collaboratively with business stakeholders, vendors, technical resources and external customers to deliver reliable, consistent and customer focused implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage our Book of Business (BOB) development team of full time, and onshore and offshore resources
Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team
End to end ownership of the implementation and delivery of BOB functionality using agile methods and DevOps principles
Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach
Hold the development team high standards in writing quality scalable and supportable code, complete with appropriate unit tests, automated testing, documentation, and operationalization aspects in a CI/CD environment
Lead production support and operations activities working closely with other teams (Infrastructure, Customer Services among others) to maintain optimal levels in service availability and performance
Be a hands-on technical leader and contributor
Collaborate with the Product team to help define, document and manage changes and new functionality to our BOB functionality
Identify opportunities and drive improvement in our products, processes and services
Working collaboratively with other departments within Express Scripts Canada, provide IS operational and technical subject matter in support of strategic initiatives. This can involve meeting/speaking directly with customers
Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience with application software development
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in development teams
Strong knowledge and experience in Agile methods and DevOps
Proficiency in CI/CD processes and tools
Hands-on experience in developing J2EE applications specifically in JAVA Web Services (SOAP & RESTFUL), Spring ,Apache, HTML, JavaScript,
Nice to have skills:
Familiarity with Application Containerization
Agile testing practices (such as TDD, BDD) and testing automation processes and tools
Familiarity with health care, financial or PBM industry
