Inspirational, innovative and entrepreneurial - this is how we describe our empowered teams. Combine your passion with purpose and join a culture that is thriving in the face of change.

Make an impact with our Indigenous Services Human Resources consulting team as a Manager. This diverse team of professionals works with more than 270 Indigenous peoples, groups and organizations across Canada and shares a passion for learning and understanding their history, culture and contributions to our country. As a trusted advisor, you’ll integrate human resources considerations and expertise into clients’ strategy, structure, systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of high-impact Human Resources (HR) consulting projects across a broad range of areas, including strategy, organizational design, leadership and team development, performance and talent management, employee engagement, and change management.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, developing strong, trust-based relationships and providing strategic guidance aligned with their business context and culture.

  • Design and implement customized HR solutions, frameworks, and tools, ensuring they are practical, culturally responsive, and grounded in best practices.

  • Oversee project teams, including Analysts and Consultants, providing coaching, guidance, and quality assurance to ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables.

  • Manage project scope, timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring work is completed on time and to the satisfaction of the client.

  • Facilitate engagement activities such as leadership sessions, focus groups, interviews, and team workshops.

  • Develop and present professional, client-ready deliverables such as presentations, reports, strategic plans, and policy documentation.

  • Monitor changes in HR legislation and trends to proactively inform clients and enhance consulting offerings.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive project environment that encourages learning, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

  • Occasional travel within Canada is required for project work and team meetings, including to remote regions.

Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of progressively senior HR experience, an HR subject matter expert with a diverse breadth of knowledge

  • HR education and/or equivalent experience, previous HR consulting experience an asset

  • Well versed in all the legislations governing and associated with HR (including both the ESA & CLC)

  • Solid grasp on diversity, equity, and inclusion practices

  • Motivated to be self-directed, and yet committed to working inclusively and collaboratively

  • Strong project management capabilities including strong communication and writing skills

  • Ability and willingness to engage with a diverse set of clients one-to-one, as well as in groups, through all methods (e.g., phone, videoconference, and in-person)

  • Willingness to work in a non-traditional, project-focused, consultative environment

  • Passion for and ability to demonstrate a commitment to our purpose and guiding principles

  • In addition to the above, as much of the work we do is with Indigenous organizations, Nations and communities, experience working in this space is a strong asset. While it’s not critical that you have this experience, it is important that you have a particular interest in and willingness to do so.
