Job Summary:
The Manager, Partnerships, Sponsorships & Community Relations is responsible for leading the development, execution and evaluation of strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and community engagement initiatives that advance organizational objectives and strengthen Saskatchewan’s culture of safety.
This role oversees external relationship management, event planning and activations, community impact initiatives, and works collaboratively across business units to align messaging, branding, and stakeholder engagement strategies. The Manager ensures effective use of resources, high-impact partnerships, and consistent delivery of programs that enhance the organization’s reputation and influence.
This position reports to the VP, Prevention and Employer Services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Partnerships & Sponsorship Management
- Partner with business units to translate identified partnership and sponsorship needs into actionable plans and outcomes.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships aligned with organizational goals, including stakeholders and other safety partners.
- Negotiate and oversee sponsorship agreements, ensuring value realization and alignment with brand strategy.
- Own key relationships, including contract performance monitoring and evaluation.
- Identify and cultivate new partnership opportunities that expand organizational reach and impact.
Community Relations & Social Impact
- Lead community engagement strategies, including corporate social responsibility (CSR) and impact initiatives.
- Make decisions on community investments, donations and engagement priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, stakeholders and sectors.
- Support initiatives that enhance workplace safety awareness and community well-being.
Events, Activations & Tradeshows
- Provide oversight and direction for event planning, tradeshows, and booth activations.
- Ensure seamless execution of engagement strategies at events to maximize brand visibility and stakeholder interaction.
- Evaluate event effectiveness and return on investment.
- Ensure alignment with organizational messaging, branding, and campaign activities.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Serve as primary relationship owner for key external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal business units to align stakeholder strategies and initiatives.
- Support recruitment and selection-related partnerships and outreach.
- Facilitate data sharing agreements with partners while ensuring compliance and value generation.
Strategic Planning & Advisory
- Triage and prioritize sectors and engagement opportunities based on impact and risk.
- Provide research and insights to support decision-making on partnerships and community investments.
- Contribute to organizational strategy through external insights and relationship intelligence.
- Ensure integration across partnerships, research, programs and communications.
Leadership & Team Direction
- Provide direction, assign work and oversee staff and/or project teams.
- Approve decisions related to partnerships, sponsorships and community initiatives.
- Ensure consistency in branding, messaging and stakeholder communications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, public relations, marketing or related field.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in partnerships, sponsorships, stakeholder engagement and/or community relations.
- Proven experience in event management, activations and large-scale engagement initiatives.
- Experience managing contracts, sponsorship agreements and external partnerships.
- Demonstrated experience working with cross-sector partnerships (public, private, non-profit).
- Strong understanding of branding, communications and stakeholder engagement principles.
- Experience with CSR/ESG or social impact initiatives.
- Financial and contract management experience.
- Knowledge of workplace safety systems or related regulatory environments is an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
