Job Description - Manager - Private Enterprise

We are currently seeking a customer-oriented Manager to join our Private Enterprise Group. This role is perfect for an experienced CPA who has worked in public practice with private, owner-managed clients. You’ll have the opportunity to work with high-quality clients across a wide range of industries, ensuring every day is interesting and diverse. If you have a specific area of interest, we’ll support you in working more closely in that field while still giving you exposure to other areas to keep your work dynamic.



The Surrey office exemplifies our commitment to growth and opportunity. It has tripled in size over the past nine years, with four new partners added since 2020. Our team is tight-knit and supportive, and you’ll enjoy working on a first-name basis with all our partners.


 


How you’ll make a difference



  • Ensure seamless client service by managing, reviewing, and planning client work in collaboration with Senior Managers and Partners.

  • Drive successful engagements by planning, managing, and finalizing Compilation Engagements and Review Engagement Reports with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Facilitate smooth regulatory interactions by handling inquiries from external agencies like the CRA and banking institutions.

  • Guide financial reporting and compliance by preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and other required filings.

  • Enhance client relationships by providing exceptional service, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, and proactively addressing client needs.

  • Lead and mentor teams by overseeing assurance, tax, and audit engagements for private sector clients while managing engagement portfolios.

  • Strengthen the firm’s future by supporting professional development through mentoring, providing feedback, and contributing to firm-wide initiatives such as IT rollouts, performance management, and training.


Who you are



  • A CPA with 1+ year of Manager-level experience in public practice, specializing in Private Enterprise clients.

  • Experienced with CaseWare and Taxprep, with bonus points for QuickBooks and cloud-based applications.

  • A team player with an entrepreneurial mindset, seeking exposure to different industries and types of work to keep your day-to-day interesting.

  • Interested in career progression within public practice at a firm with a steady team, low turnover, and significant room for professional growth.

  • A leader who enjoys mentoring CPA students, conducting performance reviews, and participating in firm committees to influence practice management.
