The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing, this role is responsible for managing the execution and ensuring the overall success of a comprehensive organic social media strategy that aligns with and amplifies our brand while supporting the achievement of our business objectives.

What you will be doing

Social Media Strategy Management and Execution:

  • Execute distinct strategies for each of our current social media channels according to the channels’ respective attributes and the business’s needs, to extend our reach, increase the engagement of our prioritized audiences, and contribute to people’s understanding of issues important to Amica.
  • Collaborate with members of the Digital, Brand Marketing, and Corp Comms teams to advise the business on ways to use social media to extend strategies aimed at cultivating positive brand perception, driving recruitment and retention, building engagement in key communities and geographies.
  • Collaborate to build synergy with Amica’s paid social advertising.
  • Participate on social media counsel to support integration of content calendar.
  • Collaborate with partners and Influencers.

Content Creation:

  • Create relevant and engaging “thumb stopping” content for our social media channels, including written posts, visuals, videos, and interactive content, which may sometimes include you being in front of the camera.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to ensure content is reviewed and approved by necessary team members.
  • Proactively stay on top of evolving social content trends – seek out trending topics and conversations that align with Amica’s audiences and interests - in which Amica can participate with authenticity.
  • Capture content and engagement at company events (may require travel).

Community Management:

  • Cultivate positive brand sentiment for Amica as an employer, as a trusted adviser for seniors, and community partner.
  • Address incoming messages promptly and serve as community manager and host to the conversations on Amica’s social media channels and prioritized reviewing platforms.

Performance Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze and maintain an ongoing understanding of our audiences in support of our strategy.
  • Review data-driven campaign reports, analyze the results, and report on the social media strategy performance so to meet or exceed channel-specific objectives and ensure KPIs for campaigns are being met.
  • Keep up to date with new features and functionality of the social media platforms

What we’re looking for

  • Highly creative, with a keen eye for esthetics and the ability to come up with fresh ideas and concepts that stand out in a crowded online space.
  • Expert knowledge and a personal passion for social media, popular culture, digital trends and content creation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the development and execution of social media strategy across social platforms.
  • A proven ability to create smart and engaging content, and exceptional writing skills.
  • Experience with creative software like Canva, Photoshop, and Premiere (or similar), as well as the editing functionality native to the social media platforms.
  • Experience developing and maintaining an editorial calendar across social platforms.
  • Experience analyzing social traffic metrics and applying the resulting insights to optimizing content.
  • An interest in upskilling in digital capabilities, and an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work.
  • A certificate or diploma in social or digital media. Consideration will be given to candidates who also have a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, journalism, communications, public relations, or social sciences.
  • Passion and empathy for working with people – particularly seniors.
  • Hybrid work.
  • Openness to occasional travel (<10%)
