Job Description - Manager, Thebacha Campus Library and Electronic Resources Librarian

Job Information

As the Manager, Thebacha Campus Library and Electronic Resources Librarian, you are responsible for the planning, development, management, and delivery of all library and information services and programs to Thebacha Campus, including Community Learning Centres (CLCs) in the South Slave and Deh Cho regions. In addition, you are responsible for leading the development, management, and delivery of Aurora College Libraries’ electronic resources, services and platforms, College-wide.

The Manager is accountable for an annual budget with designated signing authority, and is responsible for a collection of 14,000 print and audio-visual resources, plus electronic resource subscriptions and licenses. The Manager supervises Library Technician, Library Clerk, and Library Monitor (Evening /Weekend) positions. The Manager is responsible for advising Thebacha Campus and Region faculty, staff and students regarding Copyright matters, in consultation with the Chair.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited too:

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement library service plans aligned with College goals.

Resource Management: Oversee the budget and manage both print and electronic collections.

Service Delivery: Supervise and train library staff to provide high-quality research and reference services.

Electronic Resources: Lead the management and access to College-wide digital resources.

Collection Development: Evaluate and organize key information resources to meet instructional and research needs.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:

An ALA-accredited master’s degree in library and information science, and three (3) years of experience in an academic library at the professional librarian level. One (1) year of experience managing the life cycle of electronic resource collections and their access will also be included in the three (3) years of experience indicated above. Overall experience also includes one (1) year of supervisory, or team lead experience.
