New Horizon Co-op is hiring a Manager Trainee at our Trader Ridge Food Store in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

What you’ll do:

• Learn all aspects of managing the day-to-day operations of all commodities


• Assist in providing leadership and direction to Department Managers in the development and achievement of operational goals and financial results including sales, margins, expenses, inventory, and sales per employee hour (SPEH)


• Lead a culture of safety for both management and non-management employees through continuous training and adherence to New Horizon Co-op’s standards for health & safety, loss prevention, and environmental due diligence


• Ensure company policies, best practices, training courses, and certifications are completed in a timely and efficient manner


• Other duties, as assigned

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Great computer skills and the ability to manage computer files efficiently


• Self-driven and ensures accountability


• Previous leadership or management experience is considered an asset


• Willingness to travel to various New Horizon Co-op locations as required
