Marketing & Events Associate



DEPARTMENT: Marketing and Development



REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing & Communications



POSITION SUMMARY:


The Marketing & Events Associate is responsible for composing various external marketing and communication pieces, managing the Foundation's social media presence, and coordinating external events for the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba. This position will provide ongoing support to the Director of Marketing & Communications, including assisting in increasing JFM's visibility among the Foundation's constituents and awareness of its role in the community.


 


PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:


To support and assist the Director of Marketing & Communications in developing, implementing and evaluating communications strategies and programs for the Foundation.


 


To develop press releases, speeches, social media posts, photography, videography and articles for publications that conform to the JFM's communications guidelines.


 


To expand and maintain the JFM's social media presence.


 


To support and assist the Director of Marketing & Communications in coordinating the operations and logistics of all major Foundation events & campaigns.


 


To occasionally assist with the design and layout of the JFM's external printed materials that conform to the JFM's communications guidelines.


  


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:


To provide administrative assistance to the Marketing department, including, but not limited to, the following tasks:


 



  • Work cooperatively with DMC in developing, implementing and evaluating communications strategies and programs

  • Assist with the growth and improvement of the Foundation's Development programs

  • Coordinate the operations and logistics of all major Foundation events, including but not limited to:

    • Women's Endowment Fund Spring Event

    • Endowment Book of Life Signers' Brunch

    • JFM Annual General Meeting




 



  • Write articles for the JFM's external newsletters and Annual Reports

  • Develop press releases, speeches, social media posts, photography, videography and articles for publications that conform to the JFM's communications guidelines

  • Assist with the coordination of JFM Mailings, E-blasts and mailing lists

  • Support the maintenance, monitoring and reporting of the JFM's website, digital media platforms and social media channels

  • Provide logistical support for meetings & presentations



  • Provide support to the Development department with the preparation of personalized presentations and packages


 


Other tasks related to this position may be added or changed.  


 


QUALIFICATIONS:


The ideal candidate has a confident, professional style, strong interpersonal skills, and effective time management. This individual must be detail-oriented and organized. Must be a proven self-starter with a track record of commitment to outstanding customer service.




  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, advertising, communications or three years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience



  • Minimum two years of professional marketing experience



  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Prior experience in event management is an asset

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent interpersonal, project management and organizational skills with proven decision-making abilities

  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through, and proven ability to manage multiple tasks & responsibilities, prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Professional manner and ability to interact tactfully and diplomatically with a wide variety of people

  • Demonstrates a high level of motivation and willingness to accept new challenges in an independent environment

  • Knowledge of Jewish culture and community is considered an asset



Salary commensurate with experience



The ideal candidate will provide a portfolio of professional writing samples and media content.
