Job Description - Marketing & Business Development Manager
The Marketing & Business Development Manager generates quality leads for the agency through digital advertising, social media, sponsorships, website, trade shows, article writing and other activities they develop. With time and experience, the incumbent may also qualify and pitch certain types and sizes of accounts on their own. The marketing and business development manager sources RFPs, RFSOs and RFIs and manages proposal writing timeline, content and process.ResponsibilitiesAgency MarketingManages Aber Group’s website and social media properties to attract quality leads, build the brand and solicit invitations to showcase Aber Group’s abilities (speaking opportunities, article writing etc.)Produces physical and digital marketing collateral as needed to support lead generation and branding effortsManages HubSpot and the entire lead generation process and timelinesBusiness DevelopmentActively supports new business opportunities through the proposal writing processDevelops sales and relationship building skills within the organizationIndustry EngagementEnsure The Aber Group’s leadership position as a medium-sized, boutique agency in the industryEnthusiastically participates in the Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada, the Canadian Marketing Association and othersPromotes The Aber Group as an active participant in industry and partner events, councils and committeesEssential Skills & ExperienceThe ideal candidate must have:2+ years of experience with B2B content marketing, including content mapping and planningAn ability to sell a concept or opportunity to a potential partner or prospective clientGreat listening skills to uncover the prospective client’s underlying needA solid understanding of digital marketingThe ability to articulate ideas and concepts in a clear and concise mannerFamiliarity with Facebook and LinkedIn for B2B marketing and lead generationExperience with sales-based relationships and nurturing leads through email and other tacticsExcellent writing and presentation skillsSocial media marketing experienceA pleasant personality that attracts potential partners and collaboratorsDesire to get work done professionally, quickly, and flawlesslyAn entrepreneurial streak that makes them comfortable in a “just get it done” environmentGreat judgement to know when a situation needs escalation or resolved independentlyYour cover letter and resume must highlight the specific qualifications you have that would make you a great fit for this position.
