Material Handler

Purpose
Provide a high level of customer service by accurately picking and packing customer orders in a timely and professional manner, using available tools and systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Pick orders from generated packing slips as they are printed and assigned
• Pack orders to ensure safe transportation through the courier system
• Ship orders using the designated method of shipment
• Regularly use RF scanners throughout the shift
• Process incoming freight and put away parts in correct, labeled bin locations while verifying part accuracy
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Meet and exceed performance targets consistently

Other Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain cleanliness and professional presentation of the warehouse
• Notify inside administration staff of any required changes to customer packing slips
• Report non-conforming products to appropriate personnel
• Provide excellent customer service by meeting or exceeding customer needs while following company policies and procedures
• Support team objectives by assisting coworkers with related tasks
• Perform other duties related to company business as required
• Check shipment appointments for inbound and outbound logistics
• Verify and unload shipments from various vendors
• Receive shipments against purchase orders, perform sortation, and prepare items for put-away
• Verify inventory quantity and quality
• Resolve discrepancies such as shortages or incorrect parts and create NCFs as required
• Perform cycle counts as trained

Knowledge and Skills
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Order picking experience preferred
• Familiarity with various shipping methods
• Customer service experience preferred
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills

Fiscal Responsibility
• Proper use of company materials and equipment for approved business purposes

Extent of Public Contact
• Ongoing interaction with staff across departments and customers
• Occasional interaction at customer counter and showroom

Physical Demands
• Extensive walking throughout the warehouse
• Occasional use of a computer terminal
• Bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Assisting coworkers with objects weighing more than 50 pounds

Working Conditions and Environment
• Warehouse environment with exposure to heavy equipment and related conditions
• Clean warehouse setting with occasional trips to office areas
