Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nPosition Overview: \nEaton\u2019s Milton Plant has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Assembler on our day shift. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position interprets the manufacturing information documents in order to mechanically assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts or modify basic components, sub-assemblies and structures using hand and power tools for the site\u0027s product lines.\n\nIn this function you will: \n\u2022 Assemble components ensuring proper torque of bus and phase connectors. \n\u2022 Read and interpret drawings while ensuring assembly bill of material accuracy. \n\u2022 Check parts picked/delivered to parts required. Resolve discrepancies, if any, with supervisor. \n\u2022 Escalate drawing concerns via appropriate channel. \n\u2022 Repair and modify any errors detected by test/inspection. \n\u2022 Work to CSA and UL code. \n\u2022 Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the internal KANBAN process. \n\u2022 Apply consistency in assembly method for units on the same order. \n\u2022 Responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly by conducting inspection for conformance to drawings and specifications, functional operation and appearance and making mechanical adjustments as needed. \n\u2022 Clean unit and prepare for testing process. \n\u2022 Check performance of completed components to ensure compliance to quality standards and make necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals. \n\u2022 Perform pack and ship duties. \n\u2022 Use various fixtures, gauges and assembly tools to assemble, adjust or repair product. \n\u2022 Perform other duties as required. \n \n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment or six months of assembly experience. \n\u2022 Completed High School Diploma or equivalency. \n\u2022 No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 80 KM of Milton, ON to be considered. \n\u2022 Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future.\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Experience in assembly or repair of products. \n\u2022 Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics. \n\u2022 Knowledge of Lean manufacturing processes and Six Sigma Tools.\n\n \nPosition Criteria: \n\u2022 Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility. \n\u2022 Demonstrated experience of utilizing mechanical tools and measuring equipment required for assembly. \n\u2022 Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. \n\u2022 Proficiency in problem-solving, mathematical skills, computer and troubleshooting ability. \n\n\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy.\n\nAt Eaton we leverage artificial intelligence to recommend jobs to you that match the skills and experience required for the open role.
