Medical Transportation Driver (Class 2)

We are seeking an additional medical transportation driver to support the needs of medical transportation within Eskasoni.  The Medical Transportation Bus Driver transports medical clients to and from their medical appointments within the community of Eskasoni.

Job Description:

• Answers all incoming bus calls in a prompt, courteous and professional manner


• Provide required bus transportation services to and from Eskasoni Health Care Facilities (i.e. dental, physician, ultrasound, mental health, etc.) for on reserve Eskasoni residents in a prompt, courteous and professional manner


• Keep Medical Transportation Bus in clean and sanitized manner


• Ensure Medical Transportation Bus is up to date with insurance and inspection


• Ensure safety of Medical Transportation Bus for transportation of clients


• Ensure safe transportation for all clients utilizing medical transportation bus services


• Deal with the health administration clerical staff and transportation clerical staff in a cordial manner


• Respect the confidentiality of client information/services.

Job Qualifications:

• Valid CLASS 2 driver’s license and clear drivers abstract


• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate documentation and records: ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines:


• Demonstrated ability to deal with situations with discretion and confidentiality.


• Be able to handle stressful situations on short notice.


• An understanding and knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions, and history and the ability to speak Mi’kmaw is considered an asset.


• Ability to provide a clear and completed Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Records Check.
