Reporting to the Supervisor Health Programs, the Medical Travel Clerk provides specific support to individuals going on medical travel and the Supervisor by ensuring documentation is completed correctly in a timely manner and engaging with community members and individuals going on medical travel.
Main responsibilities for the Medical Travel Clerk include:
Liaising with Supervisor and Director of Health Programs concerning medical travel approvals and appeals
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a completion of Grade 10 and two years clerical experience providing direct customer service.
This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in Inuktitut is required for the position. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture,land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
