Mental Health Therapist

What you'll be doing:

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, clinical interviews, and collateral information gathering to identify treatment needs, functional limitations, and return-to-work barriers.


• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment and recovery plans that support symptom management, functional improvement, and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.


• Deliver evidence-based counselling, psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and therapeutic interventions in both individual and group settings.


• Collaborate with clients, employers, insurers, Workers’ Compensation Boards, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to support recovery and workplace reintegration.


• Monitor client progress, evaluate treatment outcomes, and modify interventions to optimize recovery and functional performance.


• Support clients in developing coping strategies, emotional regulation, vocational skills, daily living skills, and community functioning.


• Prepare clear, timely, and high-quality clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge summaries.


• Provide return-to-work recommendations, including opinions related to functional capacity, restrictions, limitations, accommodations, and prognosis.


• Participate actively in interdisciplinary case reviews, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning.


• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, families, referral sources, community partners, and clinical team members.


• Ensure continuity of care through coordinated communication with clients, families, healthcare providers, and community supports.


• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, program development, outcome evaluation, and evidence-based practice activities.


• Support student placements, mentorship activities, and other responsibilities as assigned.

What we're looking for:

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or a related health profession.


• Current registration in good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory college.


• Experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy and counselling services to adults with mental health concerns.


• Knowledge of occupational mental health, psychological injuries, disability management, and return-to-work principles.


• Experience developing and implementing individualized treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery plans.


• Strong understanding of trauma, stress-related disorders, anxiety, depression, and other common mental health conditions.


• Experience working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment.


• Ability to prepare comprehensive clinical assessments, treatment reports, and return-to-work recommendations.


• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.


• Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.


• Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and continuous professional development.


• Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to team and program objectives.
