Millwright

Introduction:

We are seeking a Millwright to join our Field Service team. You will be responsible of the execution of activities related to the repair, maintenance, and installation of mining process equipment.

This position is mainly located in Lachine, Quebec or Sudbury, Ontario. However, it involves up to 70% of travel to job sites including for extended periods.

You will join a team of Field service experts dedicated to the repair, maintenance, and installation of Metso’s mining process equipment.


Our team culture is all about solving and getting things done. The members in our team are in various locations and coordinate with Interfaces with Operations Team, Manager of Administration/Accounting/Field Service Support team.

What you’ll do:

  • Prior to arrival at a field assignment, study, plan, and prepare for field work based on the detailed scope of work, drawings, company procedures, specific instructions, manpower, etc.
  • Under the technical guidance of Metso service representative or supervisor perform various tasks and execute the work (Mechanical, maintenance and wear component replacement.
  • Must be able to read and understand basic prints/drawings to ensure accuracy of work performed.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and assist with corrective action and repairs.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required.

Who you are:

  • 5 years of experience as a Millwright/Mechanic, ideally on grinding mills, crushers, as well as other process machinery.
  • Millwright certification or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. French, oral and written is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings in the English and Metric System to ensure accuracy of work performed.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel)
