We provide accessible, quality, culturally safe and holistic health care that supports and enhances the wellness of individuals, families, and communities. We work with our 11 First Nation community partners and the IFC in the provision of primary health care, traditional healing, mental wellness and addictions, home and community support services, and health promotion services.
The opportunity: An employee in this role will support patients on their wellness journey. The Minobimaadizing Peer Support Worker will use their own lived experience with mental health and addictions to support clients by attending appointments, having regular check ins by text or phone, and participating in weekly team meetings. The Peer Support Worker will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.
This position requires the incumbent to be First Nations, Inuit or Métis with preference given to candidates who are members or residents of Garden River First Nation, Thessalon First Nation, Mississauga First Nation, Serpent River First Nation, Sagamok Anishnawbek, Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, Residents of Batchewana First Nation and those living in Sault St. Marie.

Given the traditional practices of Indigenous people, from time-to-time exposure to smoke from the burning of sacred medicines such as tobacco, sweet grass, sage or cedar may occur.
