Reporting to the Executive Director, Special Events, the candidate will join a dedicated special event and marketing team to perform market research, help professionally execute various multicultural marketing initiatives, and act as a community liaison related to increasing the profile and cultural impact of local cultural events and celebrations. The candidate will gain direct hands-on experience in a positive and encouraging workplace and will acquire valuable career-related experience in Marketing.
This is an 8 week term position ending no later than August 30th, 2024.
Main Responsibilities
- Research and maintain contact lists for Hispanic, Multicultural community associations across Canada
- Provide support in the development, organization, tracking and execution of local marketing initiatives
- Organize and maintain databases, media releases, publications, mailings and marketing materials
- Help to identify targeted community meetings/events where event promotional materials should be distributed
- Help to develop and maintain partnerships with local Hispanic community and cultural associations
- Respond to general inquiries in a timely and professional manner and provide follow up as needed
- Record and track all feedback received
- Provide admin support in the development, organization, tracking and execution of local marketing initiatives
- Coordinate and work closely with Marketing on campaigns, events and initiatives
- Assist in the organization of special events
Required Skills
- In-depth knowledge of the Hispanic market and communities is required
- Strong writing and communication skills in English and/or French is required
- Excellent command of Spanish language
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office programs
- Strong interpersonal skill with a customer service mindset with ability to manage last minute details, be versatile and flexible with multiple demands
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail
- Ability to work under the pressures of tight deadlines and multitask
- Strong initiative and self-motivated with ability to work both independently and on a team
- An enthusiastic, friendly attitude contributing to a friendly respectful workplace
Qualifications
- Marketing Degree (or in progress) and or a minimum 1-year related experience
- Be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of employment
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act 2. Please note: Student or work visa status do not qualify
- A valid SIN number at the start of employment. Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
