Are you passionate about providing solutions for clients and interested in working for a company that values fun?
We are looking for an energetic and client-orientated Network Security Consultant for our Toronto branch. You will lead the migration of legacy firewall estates to cloud-based Palo Alto firewalls and own the rollout of advanced security capabilities at scale. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who knows how to design, migrate, and operate next-gen firewalls natively in the cloud. 6 month contract with a possibility of extension.
A Day in the Life:
- Design and execute migrations from Check Point (or similar platforms) to cloud-based Palo Alto Networks firewalls (VM-Series / Cloud NGFW) on AWS
- Architect and deploy Palo Alto firewalls in AWS, including high-availability and scalable, multi-account/multi-region designs
- Deploy firewalls using Infrastructure as Code using strict standards
- Enable, tune, and roll out TLS/SSL inspection and decryption across enterprise workloads
- Implement and operationalize advanced capabilities — App-ID, WildFire, threat prevention, and related Next-Gen features in the cloud
- Integrate firewall deployments with AWS networking constructs (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Gateway Load Balancer, routing)
- Act as technical lead on migration engagements: requirements, architecture, delivery, and cutover
What You Bring:
- Strong, demonstrable expertise with Palo Alto Networks firewalls in AWS / cloud environments
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code in AWS and experience building and deploying firewalls from a Palo Alto in AWS
- Proven track record of migrations from Check Point (or similar platforms) to cloud-based Palo Alto firewalls
- Hands-on experience enabling and rolling out TLS inspection at scale.
- Solid understanding of AWS networking and cloud security architecture
- Experience designing for high availability and scale in the cloud.
- Advanced enterprise routing experience with BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, route redistribution, route filtering, summarization, and path selection
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud connectivity, including AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, VPN, private peering, and redundant circuit design
- Experience designing and supporting AWS Transit Gateway, including VPC attachments, route tables, segmentation, and centralized inspection patterns
- Hands-on knowledge of Azure hub-and-spoke networking, ExpressRoute gateways, route propagation, UDRs, NSGs, and firewall integration
- Ability to troubleshoot complex routing issues across on-premises data centers, cloud networks, firewalls, SD-WAN, and VPN tunnels
- Strong skills in high availability network design, failover testing, resilient routing, and multi-region/multi-cloud connectivity
- Automation skills, Ansible, IaC, Terraform
What Makes You Extra Awesome:
- Palo Alto Networks certification (PCNSE)
- AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect or Advanced Networking).
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform / CloudFormation) for firewall deployment
