Job Description - Night Housekeeper - Full Time

As the Night Housekeeper, you are responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of our residents during the night through ensuring the building is safe and secure, as well as assist with general housekeeping duties. This may include being available to take and make emergency calls, including coordinating residents in the event of an emergency. Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements.

Responsibilities

Clean areas according to assigned schedules using appropriate cleaning and sanitation methods and procedures. Regular maintenance of common areas, washroom fixtures, walls, ceilings, lights, vents and windows
Operate floor care machines and steam cleaning equipment (strip, scrub, spray, and buff all carpet and non-carpet floor surfaces)
Garbage collection and transportation to designated areas
Emergency Response - responding to Resident Emergency call bell system
Surveillance and patrol of grounds or buildings as assigned.
Report suspicious activity if detected, refer to the local authorities.
Verify all doors, windows and gates are secure on the property on a rotating schedule.
Respond to any alerts of suspicious activity and report to the local authorities.
Adhere to established residence policies and procedures, including safety rules and safe working practices
Prepare documentation as required according to residence policy
Solid knowledge of Resident Rights & Responsibilities, adhere to, respect and promote
Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in the Code of Conduct
Perform other related tasks & duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent is required
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to provide feedback on a day-to-day basis
Knowledge and experience with standard institutional cleaning techniques
Previous experience in commercial / residential/ Healthcare cleaning and laundry procedures is considered an asset
The ability to work with minimal supervision

Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, squat, kneel and lift over 20 pounds
