Job Summary

Coordinate and prioritize vehicle and personnel movements to meet service and delivery requirements. Monitor fleet status and communicate updates to drivers, customers, and supervisors.

Main Duties

• Receive and process service requests, orders and dispatch instructions via phone, radio and computer systems.
• Assign drivers and vehicles based on availability, route efficiency and service priorities.
• Monitor vehicle locations and status using GPS, telematics and communication tools; update schedules as needed.
• Communicate with drivers, customers and internal teams to provide ETAs, route changes and incident updates.
• Maintain accurate logs, records and reports of dispatch activities, vehicle movements and service outcomes.
• Coordinate responses to delays, accidents or service disruptions and escalate issues to management when required.

Requirements

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in dispatching, transportation coordination or a related role.
• Proficiency with dispatch/route planning software, GPS tools and standard office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multi -task and make decisions under time pressure.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and shift rotations as required.
