Job Summary


Provide assessment and therapeutic counselling to individuals, couples, families, and groups to support mental health and wellbeing. Use evidence -based approaches and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client -centred care.

Main Duties


  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and clinical assessments to determine client needs, strengths, and risk factors.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans using evidence -based therapeutic modalities.
  • Provide individual, couples, family, and group counselling and specialized therapy sessions.
  • Perform crisis intervention and risk management, including safety planning and timely escalation when required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records, progress notes, and reports consistent with professional standards and confidentiality requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians, social workers, community agencies, and other service providers to coordinate referrals and continuity of care.


Requirements


  • Post -secondary diploma or degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related therapeutic discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience providing counselling or specialized therapies in a health or community setting.
  • Eligibility for registration or membership with an appropriate provincial regulatory or professional body where applicable.
  • Training or demonstrated competence in evidence -based therapeutic approaches (for example cognitive -behavioural, trauma -informed, or family therapy modalities).
  • Current and satisfactory vulnerable sector/criminal record check as required for work with vulnerable populations.
  • Proficiency in maintaining electronic client records, strong written documentation skills, and effective verbal communication.
