Job Summary


Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of utility infrastructure to ensure reliable operation and service continuity. Work involves routine preventive maintenance, responding to service calls, and following established safety procedures.

Main Duties


  • Inspect and troubleshoot utility infrastructure components such as pipes, valves, pumps, meters, and related equipment to identify defects and failures.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, repairs, replacements, and adjustments to mechanical and electrical systems to maintain service reliability.
  • Respond to service calls and emergency outages, diagnose problems, implement temporary fixes, and restore normal operation as quickly and safely as possible.
  • Operate, maintain, and perform basic repairs on hand and power tools, small machinery, and specialized monitoring equipment.
  • Complete and maintain accurate work orders, maintenance logs, asset records, and incident reports; communicate findings to supervisors and team members.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and other crews to plan and execute scheduled repairs, upgrades, and inspections while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.


Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, utility operations, or a related trade, or comparable hands -on experience.
  • Ability to operate standard hand and power tools and common maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks, work in confined spaces, lift moderate loads, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Flexible availability to work shifts, on -call rotations, and respond to emergency repairs when required.
  • Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills to read technical documents, complete work orders, and enter reports into maintenance systems.


Required Skills


  • Mechanical aptitude and effective troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices, hazard awareness, and safe work procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and operation manuals.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills for working with team members and contractors.
  • Time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple tasks and emergency responses.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
