Position Overview

Assumes responsibility for coordinating activities and providing patient care related to the Ambulatory Clinics.


Works on a consultative basis with the Orthopaedic Technician in the Cast Clinic.


Experience


  • Recent Ambulatory Outpatient Clinic experience required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years, within the past five (5) years of related surgery experience preferred.

  • Wound and skin care expertise preferred.

  • Recent experience in case management preferred.


Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)


  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing educational program.

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.

  • Relevant foot care course preferred.

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.


Certification/Licensure/Registration


  • Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).

  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.


Qualifications and Skills


  • Works within the Centre's core values, philosophy, vision, C.Q.I. goals, policies and procedures.

  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).

  • Ability to anticipate the physicians and client needs and act appropriately.

  • Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with clients and co-workers.

  • Ability to perform as an independent, self-directed professional in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care.

  • Exhibits strong organizational, adaptability, individual initiative and judgement skills.

  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.

  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.


 



 


This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
