Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Director of Health Services and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of the St. Boniface Hospital, the Coordinator, Education Services is responsible for: recruiting health care students for clinical experience, coordinating utilization of clinical space for health care students, developing and coordinating an orientation of new Clinical Education Facilitators; conducting needs assessment to establish priorities for Hospital wide educational initiatives; developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating educational initiatives to support and facilitate organizational and service changes; participating in appropriate hospital committees, task forces and advisory groups; performing other related duties.

Experience


  • A minimum of three (3) years clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting required.

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in teaching, program development and evaluation preferred.

  • Experience in designing and delivering educational initiatives to support and facilitate organizational and service changes in patient care areas throughout the facility required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)


  • B.N. required.

  • Certificate in Adult Education would be asset.

Certification/Licensure/Registration


  • Current CRNM registration required.

  • Active participation in professional associations e.g., Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.

Qualifications and Skills


  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of word processing, e-mail, PowerPoint and internet software applications required.

  • Excellent clinical and teaching skills required.
    Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).

  • Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, patient care and clinical knowledge/skills, leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, quality improvement, teaching skills, research knowledge, professional development and seniority.

  • Current reference(s) may be required upon request.
