Job Description - Nutrition Plant Operator (Lethbridge, AB)

General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Wilbur-Ellis Company is primarily involved in mixing, processing, and transferring animal feed ingredients. We’re seeking a Plant Operator for the forage Facility to assist in all aspects of plant production, quality control, maintenance, and facility cleanliness.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

Must be at least 18 years of age

High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required

Willingness to operate material handling equipment, including a forklift, telehandler, and other equipment as required

Ability to lift packages to 50 lb. (or 110 lb. With a partner).

Good math and organizational skills

Able to follow written and verbal directions and complete the necessary documentation. The ability to read and write English is required

Willing to work overtime hours as needed

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

Learn and train all roles required at the plant ( forklift, container loading, etc.)

Operate and maintain processing equipment as outlined in SOP’s

Maintain facility cleanliness throughout all operations

Perform Quality Control while handling products

Accurately document tasks performed (processing, maintenance, cleaning, etc.)

Warehousing, including receiving, shipping, and organizing

Follow all safety, regulatory, and administrative policies and procedures

Able to work and contribute to a team approach with a positive attitude and outlook

Perform any other duties assigned by management professionally and efficiently

Exposure to high levels of hay dust may aggravate allergies and asthma.

This role is onsite and located in a rural area; personal transportation to and from the plant is required.

Compensation and Benefits:

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $ - $ per hour. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
